Exhibition on Screen 2023

The Jerusalem Cinematheque is proud to present, for the second year, the global sensation Exhibition on Screen, in collaboration with top international museums and galleries.

With a cinematic tour through the halls of museums and insights from leading historians, curators and art critics, Exhibition on Screen brings exhibition-based art films to a cinema near you and takes the audience on a mesmerizing and unforgettable journey into the life and work of the utmost renowned and loved artists in history.

Led by award-winning filmmakers Phil Grabsky and David Bickerstaff, Exhibition on Screen, has extensive relationships with galleries around the world, such as the National Gallery, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Tate, MoMA, Hermitage, Royal Academy and many more.

The Jerusalem Cinematheque is pleased to invite the Israeli audience to join millions of other viewers from around the world on this extraordinary experience.

Raphael Revealed

Marking the 500th anniversary of Raphael’s death, the greatest exhibition ever held of his works took place in Rome. With over two hundred masterpieces - some unprecedented loaned from the Louvre, Uffizi, Prado Museum - this exhibition and film provide an unprecedented opportunity to see the breadth of Raphael’s skill, creativity and ingenuity.

Sunflowers

Mary Cassatt: Painting the Modern Woman

Mary Cassatt made a career painting the lives of the women around her. Her radical images were a major shift in the way women appeared in art. Presenting her astonishing prints, pastels and paintings, this film introduces us to the often-overlooked Impressionist whose own career was as full of contradiction as the women she painted. 

Tokyo Stories
