In April 1943, the first-ever armed revolt against the Nazi occupiers took place in the Warsaw Ghetto. Among the largely forgotten fighters were women who took up arms. Cywia Lubetkin and Rachel Auerbach survived persecution, witnessed the destruction of their people, and played pivotal roles in the resistance. Through their interwoven stories, the film sheds light on overlooked aspects of the uprising, using never-before-seen photographs and archival footage to explore the link between individual lives and the course of history.
