The Yorkin family's photos look like they are straight out of an ad for the perfect American family. Sy, the introverted fellow who runs the one hour photo shop where Nina takes the family photos to be developed, develops an obsession towards the Yorkins and begins saving copies of their photos. When a roll of film reveals that all may not be perfect in the Yorkins' family life, Sy's tenuous hold on reality begins to collapse as well.
