The Long Night of Francisco Sanctis

Argentina 2016 | 78 minutes | Spanish | English, Hebrew subtitles

Buenos Aires, 1977. Francisco Sanctis, a rather ordinary family man, learns that two men are about to be arrested by the military dictatorship's soldiers. Racing against the clock, Francisco has to make the biggest decision of his life: will he risk his life to try and save these innocent men?

Francisco Márquez and Andrea Testa's feature debut, a minimalist film noir, takes us on a journey plagued by doubts through the streets of Buenos Aires under the junta's rule, and communicates the protagonist's stress without showing a single soldier or police officer. The film was screened in Cannes and won four awards at BAFICI (Buenos Aires’ Indie Film Festival), including Best Actor and Best Film.
