When the doctor informs Trudi that her husband Rudi's days are numbered, she decides to spare him the bad news, and convinces him to go on a trip to visit their children and grandchildren. On their way to Tokyo, where their son Karl lives, Trudi suddenly dies. Rudi decides to continue the journey East on his own. He spends time in the city, meets a young Butoh dancer, and treats himself to a journey to Mt. Fuji. A patiently-paced film that will remind you of the Japanese master Yasujiro Ozu's Tokyo Story
