Other Screenings

Karina Ariev is Sasha's younger sister and Albert and Ira's daughter. The family's ray of light, always smiling, happy, singing, and dancing, creates a calm and loving atmosphere. A pure and charming girl who loves life and helps everyone, spreading giving, free love, and respect.
Karina served at the Nahal Oz outpost as an observer and was kidnapped on 07.10 while still in pajamas, barefoot, covered in blood, and only 19.
Karina and her sister like to cuddle together on the couch and watch movies. When we thought about which film to screen, the choice was easy. There are many similarities between Karina and Mulan.
Hoping and praying for Karina's quick and safe return and for many more movies she will get to see with her sister.

Prior to the screening, a conversation (in Heb.) with Karina's family

Based on an old Chinese legend about a young girl who pretend to be a man to join the war against the Hunnes. As in previous Disney films, the inspiration comes from foreign cultures' myths (East Asian in the case before us), but in the face of this cultural appropriation, Disney succeeds in depicting, gently and sensitively, how a young woman deals with the shackles of gender and status in the patriarchal society in which she lives. Long before this philosophizing, "Mulan" is an animated film with the familiar qualities of Disney, so your enjoyment is guaranteed.
