Bad Education

Spain 2003 | 105 minutes | Spanish | Hebrew subtitles

Madrid, early 1980s. Enrique, a film director, is searching for a subject for his next project when an unemployed actor arrives at his home, claiming to be Enrique’s childhood friend from their days at a Catholic boarding school. The story then takes us back to the 1970s and further to the 1960s, revisiting that same school. In Pedro Almodóvar’s film, each narrative twist offers a fresh perspective on previous events. A rich and complex exploration of the past, memory, and storytelling, it stands as one of Almodóvar’s most personal works.
