Anima – My Father's Dresses

After her father dies, Uli's mother hands her his "secret" box as an inheritance. The contents suddenly change her view of her father, herself, her family, and the society in which she grew up. From these materials, Uli Decker creates a brilliant documentary that easily moves between archival footage, new segments, and animation to present a somewhat co-diary of a daughter and her deceased father, both dealing – each in their own way – with escaping social boxes.
