Princess Mononoke

Japan 1997 | 133 minutes | Japanese | Hebrew subtitles

On a journey to find the cure for a curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest creatures and Tataraba, a mining colony. On his quest, he also meets Princess Mononoke. Princess Mononoke is a parable about man's place in nature and is formulated as a majestic adventure film. As usual, Miyazaki offers a host of plot inventions presented in spectacular, creative, and immersive animation. “Some of the images in Princess Mononoke are not just unforgettable, they're almost edible in their vibrantly colored beauty” (Washington Post).
