Dr. Malka Shabtay, an Israeli anthropologist and activist, travels to North Shewa, Central Ethiopia. There, she meets a hidden Jewish community and documents its special story of survival. Abera Teshome, a young artist, joins Dr. Shabtay on her journey so he may complete the missing pieces of his Jewish identity. They visit 15 synagogues and participate in the reenactment of the Red Cow ceremony. This is the extraordinary story of a hidden Jewish community that will survive in the 21st century. The community still lives in constant danger but is now ready to share its story with the rest of the world.
