1950s France: Hélène and Michel run a typical patriarchal household—until one morning, they wake up in 2025 and discover that the world they knew has changed completely. C’était mieux demain uses the time-travel gimmick to explore questions of class, language, and relationships. Drawing on nostalgia and the comedic tension between tradition and progress, the result is an effective comedy.
