A bereaved mother stands at a dusty country road, waiting for her son to return from war. This is her son’s story, a young soldier that at the height of the war came home for a brief visit.  With striking camerawork, Chukhray plays on the heartstrings to create a candid portrait of the Soviet Union during WWII.
