Comics Leaves the Quarantine - A Conversation with Michel Kichka (in Hebrew)

Comics Leaves the Quarantine - A Conversation with Michel Kichka (in Hebrew)

During my lecture I’d like to introduce you to five world-famous comics artists who are all creators of series portraying special children living in imaginary worlds in order to deal with reality; similar to what we may be experiencing right now…. These comics illustrators deeply influenced generations of readers and artists by creating an entire realm of opportunities and new forms of storytelling. All the series are based on short stories expressing thoughts about life with humor and wisdom.

Here is the full list of the series and their artists, all of which are available online:
1. Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay - USA 1905-1927
2. Charlie Brown by Charles Schultz - USA 1950-2000
3. Mafalda by Quino - Argentina 1964-1973
4. Boule & Bill by Roba - Belgium from 1959
5. Calvin & Hobbes- Bill Watterson - USA 1985-1995

All of the series were made into animated adaptations, films, and series, but in my personal opinion, the original comics versions are always best.
I hope this motivates and inspires you to tell a story through comics, you can create little stories about little things, or stories about any special, new, funny & annoying things you’ve experienced during quarantine.
