Cinema Program for Children

We asked three artists and speakers to discuss a subject related to film and provide kids at home with a special activity in connection to their talk.

Comics Leaves the Quarantine – Comics illustrator and artist Michel Kichka speaks about five world-famous comics artists who are all creators of series portraying special children living in imaginary worlds in order to deal with reality; similar to what we may be experiencing right now…. These comics illustrators deeply influenced generations of readers and artists by creating an entire realm of opportunities and new forms of storytelling. All the series are based on short stories expressing thoughts about life with humor and wisdom.

Filmmaker and funnyman Alon Gur Arye tells us about the invention of the first film, the first joke in Cinema, the first special effects on screen, and lots of Charlie Chaplin.

Ihab Jadallah speaks to us in English and Arabic about the Birth of Cinema – It’s not really magic, but an illusion, an illusion that brought together inventors and artists to create one of the most influential art forms ever known: Film.
