Russia, Poland, Serbia and Montenegro 2018 | 126 minutes | Russian | Hebrew, English subtitles

Dovlatov charts six days in the life of the brilliant, ironic writer Sergei Dovlatov who saw far beyond the rigid limits of 1970s Soviet Russia. Together with his friend and poet Joseph Brodsky, he fought to preserve his own talent and integrity while seeing their artist friends getting crushed by the iron-willed state machinery. For the first time, Alexey German Jr. turns his camera on his hometown, 1970s Leningrad, to present a portrait of an era of stagnation and its destructive effects.
