Czechoslovakia, 1949. A young student sends a postcard to his girlfriend signed, as a joke, Long live Trotsky! and is expelled. 20 years later, he meets the man who judged him and decides to get his revenge. The film remains one of the most subversive and critical films to be made in the Communist Bloc.
