Finita la commedia? 2017

After the success of the first edition dedicated to the cinema of Alberto Sordi, Finita la Commedia? The Festival of Italian Comedy returns.

The selection will give the Israeli spectator an opportunity to see (or revisit) the restored masterpieces of Dino Risi – a recognized master of Italian Comedy – and to appreciate some of the most successful examples of current comedies based on salient aspects of contemporary Italian society. The Festival will also offer a tribute to the cinema of Paolo Villaggio, who recently passed away, the creator of accountant Ugo Fantozzi, the most famous Italian character of the 1970s and '80s.

E' finita la Commedia? Italian Comedy Festival in Israel is a cultural event organized by the Italian Cultural Institutes of Tel Aviv and Haifa and the Cultural Association ADAMAS (Italy-Israel), under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Israel, in collaboration with the Cinematheques of Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, Holon, Herzliya and Sderot, and with Cineteca of Bologna
