A special division police officer is assigned to protect the Queen of Britain during her visit to Los Angeles. Around this premise, the trio of Zucker, Abrahams & Zucker fire off a hysterical barrage of gags and jokes spoofing police films and spy thrillers of the late 20th century. Leslie Nielsen shines as Officer Frank Drebin, a perfect idiot who manages to botch every mission with unshakable confidence. As in their previous films Airplane! and Top Secret, the screen overflows with parodies, visual gags, and wordplay that demand multiple viewings to catch them all. A wild, classic comedy that's always a joy to revisit.
Like his father, Frank Drebin Jr. is a police officer in Los Angeles. He gets involved in a death investigation that may lead to a ruthless tycoon. The Naked Gun reboot isn’t a remake but aims to preserve the sharp, literal, and visual humor of the late ’80s trilogy. Liam Neeson steps into Leslie Nielsen’s shoes, bringing his action-hero persona as a silent, tough fighter. The result is an entertaining comedy that honors the original and earned laughs and smiles from both audiences and critics.
