Juliette Binoche plays a writer who, as research for her next book, goes undercover and joins a staff of cleaning women. She tries to understand what the world looks like from the point of view of the minimum wage and the conditions of female workers. The friendship and solidarity that develops between her and the other women are put to the test when her identity is discovered. With tenderness and wisdom, Between Two Worlds depicts class and female relationships and offers a solemn perspective on the ethics of creating art from the suffering of others.
