Cherubin Ngemba: A Remarkable Story

Cherubin Ngemba is a Congolese singer, guitarist, dancer, and composer born in Kinshasa and living in Israel since 2016. He completed his college and university studies in Kinshasa at INA and was a youth mobilizer for democracy as well as a titular guitarist at the Vijana Jazz Congolese jazz band. Within this capacity, Cherubin Ngemba performed in concerts, festivals, weddings, churches, youth groups, and more. He also served as artistic director of many musical and traditional dance troupes in the Congo. In Israel, Cherubin Ngemba began his career in a Congolese church in Tel Aviv; his talent was later discovered by other communities (French-speaking, English-speaking, Jewish etc.), and he established the BILENGE MUSICA African band. Since becoming the lead singer of the AFRO-KAN-BAND group composed of Israelis performing RUMBA CONGOLESE African music and performing throughout Israel,  Mr. Ngemba can be found performing in local festivals, concert, radio stations, churches, conferences, and workshops based on traditional Congolese song and dance. Mr. Ngemba established CAPACITY-SHOOL INTERNATIONAL - a private music school where he teaches African and Israelis living in Tel Aviv.
