A Serious Man
Minnesota, the 1960s. Just when his son is about to celebrate his bar mitzvah, Larry Gopnik's life turns upside down. His wife wants a divorce, his son prefers "Jefferson Airplane" over the "Haftara," his daughter dreams of a nose job, and his brother shows up at his house with no intention of leaving. From here on, everything turns downhill.... In their most personal film to date, the Minnesota-born and bred Coen brothers reveal some of the inspirational sources that have made their films original and unique. As in their previous works, the directors create an emotional and intellectual range which cannot go unnoticed.
