999: The Forgotten Girls

In March 1942, nearly 1,000 young Slovak Jewish women, told by their government that they were embarking on a volunteer work assignment, became the first Jewish transport to the Nazi death camp. The film ensures that these women will no longer be a historical footnote.

Following the screening, conversation with director RP Kahl, producer Alexander van Dülmen, and actors Rony Herman & Axel Sichrovsky. There will be a short intermission during the screening

The Investigation

In 1965, playwright Peter Weiss adapted the Frankfurt Auschwitz trial in a documentary style to the theater. The play, which is reduced to a lyrical lament, confronts the victims and their perpetrators and provides a look at the horrors of Auschwitz. The Investigation  brings the original text to life on the big screen.
