This documentary exposes as never before the tension between art and commerce in the world of Haute couture, as it follows the production of two related events: Andrew Bolton's monumental 2015 fashion exhibit at the Met, examining the influence of Chinese culture on western designers; and the lavish annual gala orchestrated by Anna Wintour to celebrate the exhibition's opening, attended by some of the biggest names in music, cinema, television and fashion. With unprecedented access and interviews with some of the leading figures in fashion (Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano), director Andrew Rossi plunges headlong into the discussion at the heart of the fashion industry.
