In a practically deserted hospital in Naples, two nurses, Angelo and Salvatore, are on shift when a desperately ill patient is wheeled in. The two decide to bet on the patient's survival odds - the winner will get Christmas off. From that moment on, Salvatore will spend the night trying to keep the patient alive, while Angelo will play dirty to ensure he wins the bet.
