A young and silly dishwasher comes from Texas to New York intending to conquer the big city. He sinks into degenerate loneliness, from which he is saved by the only friend he managed to make - a sickly and wretched young man. This is an excellent portrait of a time and place that brilliantly captures the essence of the late 1960s.
