At 75, Steven Spielberg presents a semi-biographical film about growing up as a Jewish kid in the USA in the 1950s and 60s, his parent’s crumbling marriage, and his first steps into cinema. The Fabelmans is “uplifting and yet deeply melancholy and really funny. Typical Spielberg. Pulling on multiple heartstrings at the same time, to great effect” (Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times).
