Neta Ariel

Director of the Maaleh Film School. Directed the documentary film, A Mirror for the Sun. Neta Ariel was raised in northern Israel, served in the IDF, and studied Political Science, Theater History, and Communications at Hebrew University. During the 1970s, Ariel worked in youth programming at the Israel Broadcasting Authority. She edited newspapers and wrote articles for publications in Gush Etziyon and is the author of the children’s book – A Gift Child. In 1995, she began working as Assistant Director at Maaleh and in 2001, was appointed the school’s director.

Erez Bernholtz

Director and producer, graduate of the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television, Tel Aviv University.Recipient of three Israeli Television Academy Awards (2019, 2020, 2021) for Save the Wild Animals, which he directed. The fourth season is currently being broadcast. Partner in Casquette Productions, serving as director and producer of commercials, short films, and a web series for KAN-Israeli Broadcasting Authority. He previously served as Director of the Israeli Film Competitions at the Jerusalem Film Festival, 2014-2016, and Director of the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival. 

Jeanine Meerapfel

Jeanine Meerapfel is a filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer. She lives in Berlin. Born in Buenos Aires, she attended journalism school and worked as an editor and journalist. Her first feature film, Malou, was awarded the 1981 Cannes FIPRESCI Award. Numerous award-winning documentaries and feature films include Im Land meiner Eltern (1981), La Amiga (1988), Amigomío (1995), Anna’s Summer (2001). In 2012 she was awarded a Life Achievement Award at the International Film Festival Innsbruck. Ms. Meerapfel is a former Professor of Film & Television at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and is President of the Berlin Academy of Arts. Ms. Meerapfel joins us with her documentary film, A Woman
