Headstrong Joan Webster is determined to travel to a Scottish island and marry her wealthy fiancé. But even she cannot fight nature, and a storm forces her to stay put in a tiny seaside village, with its quaint inhabitants, and a handsome pilot that gradually pulls on her heartstrings. By the time the weather clears, Joan will have to decide where she is really going. Powell and Pressburger wrote this romantic script in three weeks, and per their previous works, I Know is simply put – fantastic. The narrative is plum, the cinematography is breathtaking, and the two leads are mesmerizing. Not surprising that Martin Scorsese commented, "I reached the point of thinking there were no more masterpieces to discover, until I saw I Know Where I'm Going!"
