Lina Wertmüller's debut film is an adaptation of Fellini's I Vitelloni, set in south Italy. Three small-town youngsters are completely indifferent to what the world can offer them. Even after moving to Rome, Antonio cannot adapt to city life, and he returns home to the comfort of the familiar, the prejudices, and the provincial life that have already become part of his being.
