This is the story of those Jews who rescued other Jews in the Holocaust, many of whom could have escaped themselves but chose to save their Jewish brethren. The rescuers operated in cities, villages, ghettos, and camps, they did so with resourcefulness and wisdom, with ferocity and self-risk, and many of them paid for it with their lives.
