This film follows Yoni Rechter – one of Israel's most influential musicians of recent decades – in his everyday routine and on the stage, trying in the process to unlock the Rechterian secret of his continuously effervescent work. His melodies have formed the soundtrack to the lives of many Israelis born in the sixties and seventies. Without these songs, it is often said, our musical world would have been much poorer and duller. These compositions – uncompromising, true to themselves, often complex and sometimes complicated – are also, at the same time, accessible and surprisingly memorable, faithfully reflecting their composer's personality: a person whose whole life is music; a man whose daily and artistic routine are intertwined. We follow Yoni Rechter in his small, everyday moments, in his musical experiments in front of the piano, as he exposes the sources of his musical inspiration.
