The Last of the Unjust

In 1975, while collecting materials for Shoah, Claude Lanzmann met Benjamin Murmelstein, the last president of the Theresienstadt Jewish Council, for a series of conversation that did not make it into the film. In 2012, he went back to these materials and discovered a composed hero that had to withstand cruel and painful moral tests.
