On the morning of October 7, 2023, author Amir Tibon was at home with his family in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, less than one kilometer from the Gaza border. His father, retired general Noam Tibon, was 85 kilometers away in Tel Aviv. As Amir, his wife, and their children heard Hamas attackers get closer and closer to their home, he managed to reach his father. This film recounts how Noam set out to cross the distance between them in an attempt to rescue his family, trapped in their home and surrounded by gunfire. The Canadian documentary The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue arrives in Haifa from its world premiere at the Toronto Festival. The film combines new interviews with footage from October 7, 2023.
