Rosaura at 10 O'clock

Argentina 1958 | 100 minutes | Spanish | Hebrew, English subtitles

Camilo is a timid painter staying at "La Madrilenia," a guesthouse run by Doña Milagros Ramoneda and her daughters. One evening, the beautiful Rosaura arrives, and the story takes us back in time to discover who she is and how she is connected to Camilo. By the late 1950s, American film noir was already in decline, but this film reveals how Argentina gave the style a distinct Latin flair. Rosaura at 10 O’clock wildly employs all the genre’s rules: dynamic camera work, high-contrast black and white, time shifts, and a narrative structure that questions everything we’ve learned with every twist. The result is a thrilling, sophisticated, and captivating mystery. Originally screened at the 1958 Cannes Film Festival, it’s considered one of the great classics of Argentine cinema, and this restoration offers a wonderful chance to rediscover it.
