Brazil, 1970. A military regime controls the country, but 12-year-old Mario's only interest is the World Cup. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, his parents go on vacation and leave him with his grandfather in São Paulo. There, Mario discovers from his grandfather’s neighbor, an observant Jew, that he is Jewish. Will this man look after him? Why did his parents leave? Where are they, and why can't they be contacted?
