A mother and daughter are on a collision course following the discovery of a secret affair the late family patriarch had had. The daughter finds herself attracted to her father’s lover’s son, whilst the mother feels hurt by this so-called act of betrayal. The two women, each in their own way, must fight to get over a painful past if they are to start afresh and blaze their own trail. The film was shown at the 1981 Cannes Film Festival and was chosen to represent Israel at the Oscars in the Best Foreign Film category.
