Himmo, King of Jerusalem

Israel 1987 | 84 minutes | Hebrew

1948. Jerusalem is under seige. Hamutal, a young nurse who lost her lover in the war, arrives at an abandoned monastary serving as a makeshift hospital. She is sent to the belfry where she tends to the cynical soldiers. When Himmo, a new and horribly wounded soldier arrives, she focuses all her attention on him, arousing the resentment of the rest of the men. An adaptation of the novel by Yoram Kaniuk.
