Candy

On the steep slope connecting "heaven", "earth" and "hell", the names of the three chapters that make up this film, the story of a young and in-love couple unfolds, from the moment Dan agrees to let his girlfriend Candy try heroin, to the worst moments of their shared addiction. "Candy" focuses on the moral and emotional disintegration of the couple, and the infuriating calm with which they march away from normal life into a world of crime and misery. The film's strength comes from its solid script, straightforward and low-key approach to its intelligent heroes, and the impressive presence of the lead actors.
