Italy, 1900. In a small fishing village in north-east Italy, Agata’s gives birth to a stillborn. Agata embarks on an epic journey across the mountains to a place where infants can be brought back to life for just one breath, to baptize them and save their souls. Laura Samani uses the camera and vistas to create a hypnotizing and poetic experience. It is a journey into a world and time where Catholicism, folklore, and mysticism merge and offer deceptive comfort to a young woman dealing with motherhood and grief.
