Oldboy

South Korea 2003 | 120 minutes | Korean | Hebrew subtitles

Oh Dae-su is a husband and father whose reputation as a womanizer is well known. One night, returning from a night out, he is captured and thrown into a prison cell. He has no idea who his captors are and for what reason he has been imprisoned, and he spends the next 15 years in his cell, keeping physically fit in an attempt to retain his sanity. Through the television, he learns that his wife and daughter have been murdered and that he is the principal suspect. And then one day, as suddenly as he was taken, he is set free. Now he must readjust to life outside his prison cell, and find a way to take revenge. Oldboy is a cinematic roller coaster, shifting between timelines, infusing reality and delusion, and undermining the perception of reality. Park Chan-Wook presents a cinematic Tour de Force that you will not want to miss.
