Three young Vietnamese women immigrate to Japan in hopes of finding employment. A series of events causes them to become illegal and find work in a small fishing village. The future seems bright until one of them falls ill. Akio Fujimoto explores a complex condition in modern Japanese society and the tension between the cultural homogeneity of Japanese society and the growing need for working hands from outside.
