Told through the young residences of the place – boys, teens, men, and girls working in prostitution – Zinder is the story of the Kara-Kara district of Zinder, Niger, a harsh arena of violence. The lucky ones make a living smuggling fuel from neighboring Nigeria; others find comfort in bodybuilding and self-defense. Due to the ongoing clash between gangs, many are imprisoned. But even in prison, they discover that life is conducted under the laws that govern the district. Though the lives of the residents are saturated with violence and exploitation, friendships and humanity erupt.
