This documentary reviews the life of the greatest pianist of the twentieth century, Arthur Rubinstein, beginning with his early years in Łódz´, Poland, through to his final concert there in 1975 (later, deteriorating eyesight prevented him from performing until his death in 1982). This 100th anniversary tribute features archival interviews with him and his family, home movies and rare footage of his concerts. The film spends much time on Rubinstein's great love of his country of birth and one of its most important cultural representatives – Frédéric Chopin. Narrated by John Rubinstein, the pianist's son.
