Sonia is a nice girl from a prominent Bavarian family. Her popularity is drastically reduced when she writes an essay called "My Town Under the Third Reich". The subject proves too sensitive and suddenly doors start slamming in her face. The local archive refuses to allow her to do any research and she is ostracized. The years pass. Sonia is married with a family. However, she finds the townspeople as complacent as ever.
