Cornelia is not happy. Her only son Barbu will not listen to her advice. The humor she uses for self-preservation cannot protect her when her baby is involved in a deadly car accident. The combination of cynical humor and sober realism exposes the guts of the social system and the place where morality gives way to self-interest.
