The Mummy

Egypt 1969 | 102 minutes | Arabic | Hebrew, English subtitles

Regarded as one of the most important Egyptian films ever made, The Mummy follows the search for stolen Egyptian artifacts in the 19th century. The film, an allegory about Egyptian identity, is enveloped in an enchanting atmosphere: brilliant camera movements, a steady pace, thoughtful color and design scheme. This restored print is a rare opportunity to watch this majestic classic.

Restored in 2009 by The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project at Cineteca di Bologna /L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in association with the Egyptian Film Center. Restoration funding provided by Armani, Cartier, Qatar Airways, Qatar Museum Authority and the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
