Bad Shabbos

David and his fiancée Beth are headed to his parents’ home for Friday-night dinner. It’s the first time her parents will meet his—a potentially tense encounter between a Jewish New York family and a Christian Midwestern one. Just before the meal begins, a body is found in the building, and everything quickly spirals from there. Jewish families have long been a rich source of comedy, and this film is no exception: it offers well-crafted characters, sharp plot twists, and a generous spirit toward everyone involved.
