In 1945, as the world was still reeling from the horrors of the Holocaust, military psychologist Douglas Kelley was assigned to evaluate the mental state of Hitler’s right-hand man, Hermann Göring, along with other high-ranking Nazi officers. As the first international tribunal of its kind was being established to hold the Nazi regime accountable for its crimes, Kelley found himself drawn into a psychological duel with the charismatic and manipulative Göring—an encounter that spiraled into an all-consuming obsession with understanding the nature of evil.
