A documentary about Semyon Davidovich Dodik. As a child, he was captured by the Nazis but managed to escape. He was in a ghetto, the sole survivor of his family who were exterminated, fought as a partisan, and toward the end of the war became an officer in the Red Army. Throughout his life, he never lost his unique sense of humor, completed over 40 treks across the USSR, and wrote books about ghettos, the Holocaust, and... mushrooms. And he always fought against antisemitism and xenophobia in Russia.
