In his second film, Bryan Singer weaves a complex and twisting plot centered around a federal agent's attempts to track down a mysterious drug lord. But it's not the action-packed thriller plot or the dramatic moments that are the main focus here. The Usual Suspects is an ironic, intelligent, stylish, and modern thriller that echoes Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs (though this is a much less frenetic film) - a brilliantly crafted and fashionable cinematic manipulation that has gained a following among sophisticated audiences, not only in our region.
